My journey began in Málaga, flying through Paris and Detroit until I finally touched down in Grand Rapids. For five days, I wasn’t just a photographer; I was one of the family. From the moment Daniel and Sam (Shannon’s father and brother) picked me up, the experience was life-changing. We started at Daniel’s ranch on the outskirts of the city for a warm welcome BBQ, surrounded by horses and the vast Michigan landscape. The next day, we explored a city transformed by ArtPrize—an incredible event where art takes over every street and building. We capped off the pre-wedding celebrations with an intimate party at a local pub with the couple’s closest friends, soaking in the authentic Grand Rapids atmosphere.

After the "I do," we embarked on a quintessentially American tradition: a Trolley tour. The energy inside was electric—music, drinks, and laughter. Working alongside Kelly from All Buttoned Up Events, we scouted the best urban spots, even walking a few blocks alone to capture spontaneous, raw moments among the historic architecture and local graffiti.

Working alongside Kelly from All Buttoned Up Events, we explored iconic urban spots, from classic architecture to vibrant local graffiti. I suggested Shannon and Karel walk a few blocks alone near the city center, away from the crowd, to capture spontaneous, raw, and artistic moments that truly define the spirit of an American destination wedding.

We enjoyed the night until the early hours with spectacular lighting, enviable food, and a DJ spinning American classics on vinyl with incredible flow. The journey came full circle the next day back at the ranch for an intimate family meal. The emotion reached its peak as gifts and surprises were shared, putting the final touch to this transatlantic adventure. This wasn't just a wedding; it was a testament to international trust.
